Line of Events
A modern day story about making a fortune in the world of West Texas oil rigs.. A landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, workers’ housing (camp people), oversee the assembly of excavation machines, and the drilling of the site itself, especially in remote locations.

The feel is Yellowstone and this is a welcome one, series with some reality vs superhero and fantasy. Based in the Permian Basin Oilfield, great casting so far!
Interesting people and stories
We Oilfield guys shake our heads at the inaccuracy of field life and blowouts/explosions. The technical failures in the first three episodes are embarrassing, and your technical consultant got it all wrong in the Blowout scene. Old stuck valve, 24 inch pipe wrench (applied upside down being hammered near the tip? 100% wrong.
You need torque, didn’t Cheater pipe try it first?
No hammer unless it was a brass hammer (i.e., no sparks)? No experienced downstream oil crew would have made that a blowout (I’ve never seen a Landman on location and put the wrench upside down again and hit his own finger). Ridiculous. Hey-Ho, Hollywood.
